The photograph shows a full house attendance at the newly built Student Activities Centre (SAC) on the 20th convocation day.

Some of the personalities that have been identified are, Mrs. Malathi Ramanna (wife of Dr. Raja Ramanna, seated in first row, central column, second from left, wearing a green saree). Dr. Ramanna was the Chairman, Board of Governors of IIT Bombay. Mrs. Jaya Indiresan (wife of Director of IIT Madras Prof. P. V. Indiresan, third from left) and Mrs. Indira Sivasailam (wife of Mr. A. Sivasailam, fourth from left). Mr. Sivasailam was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Madras.
