The audience stands as the members of the academic procession take their place on the dais.

Seen in this image are Prof. Surjit Singh (wearing a red turban), Director L. S. Srinath (wearing a convocation robe with an orange sash), the chief guest Mr. Russi Mody (wearing a convocation robe with a gold sash), and Chairman A. L. Mudaliar (wearing a convocation robe with a gold sash). The other guests are yet to be identified.
