Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash perform at Classical Music Night, Saarang 2005

Earlier known as Mardi Gras, Saarang is the cultural festival of IIT Madras, with events for students to participate and compete in; Saarang in 2005 also had professional shows with rock, Western music, jazz, and Indian classical music performances.
Classical Music Night was held on 21 January 2005 with musicians Ayaan Ali Bangash and Amaan Ali Bangash, sons of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, all of whom are famed for their musical prowess with the sarod. They can be seen in the photograph accompanied by Mr. Uma Shankar on ghatam and Sandeep Das on tabla.
There was a large audience of about 4000 for this event. This performance took place on 21 January 2005, the first day of the 6 days, 21 to 26 January, during which Saarang 2005 was held.
