This photograph was taken on the day that IIT Madras received the Siemens 7580-E computer system from the Federal Republic of Germany. The official function was held at the Central Lecture Theatre (CLT).
Seen in the photograph, from left, Mr. A. L. Mudaliar (Chairman, Board of Governors), Mr. Hans Klein (Minister for Economic Co-operation, Federal Republic of Germany) and Dr. Konrad Seitz (Ambassador, Federal Republic of Germany). The computer was officially handed to IIT Madras by Mr. Klein.
