This photograph was shot in 2012, during the 63rd Republic Day celebration on campus. In the image, we can see Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi (Director of IIT Madras, 2011-2022) who was received by Mr. A. Thirunavukkarasu (Registrar of IIT Madras, 2009-2012) and saluted by SFO (Security-cum-Fire Officer) Mr. Narayan Elumalai.
This photograph was taken when Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi arrived at the Republic Day event. The celebration took place in front of the Administration Building. It also saw the Director reviewing the security officers’ parade, a speech by the Director and renditions of several patriotic and national songs. Faculty members, staff members, residents and students attended the celebration.
