We know from the annual report of IIT Madras (1963-1964) that Dr. Mudaliar opened the school on 8 July in 1963. In this photograph, he is seen carrying a bouquet, while Mr. R. Natarajan (Registrar, second from left) and Father Murphy (Professor of English, Loyola College, third from left) look on.
The writing on the blackboard tells us that they are in a nursery class. The person to the extreme left is yet to be identified.
