Dr. Jagadeesh S. Moodera receives the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the 50th Institute Day, 2009

This photograph was taken on 17 April 2009 when IIT Madras celebrated its 50th Institute Day. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.
Dr. Jagadeesh S. Moodera was one of the recipients that year. He graduated from IIT Madras with a PhD in Physics in 1978 and is most recently Senior Research Scientist at the Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Massachusetts.
The photograph shows Prof. M. S. Ananth who was the Director of IIT Madras (2001-2011) at that time, presenting the award to Dr. Jagadeesh S. Moodera. The third person at the right side of the photograph is Mr. K. V. Rangaswami [Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd] who was the chief guest for the function.
