This photograph was taken at the seminar organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at IIT Madras. Dr. Pfauter (Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany) was one of the speakers at the event.
Dr. Karl Pfauter served as head of the cultural department at the German embassy in New Delhi in 1954, and from 1961, he was head of the economic department at the German embassy in Athens. Between 1964 and 1970 he was Consul General for South India in Madras.
