In the photograph, Abhijit Biswas (student of IIT Madras) is seen talking into the microphone while participating in an event which was taking place at the Central Lecture Theatre. This photograph was captured possibly during the ‘Just a Minute’ (JAM) event at the Central Lecture Theatre during Mardi Gras (1983). The cultural festival of 1983, included several competitions that were conducted over a period of five days.

Apart from the main competitions such as the Music Competitions (Western and Indian Classical), Quiz, Debate, Fine Arts Competition and Photography, there were also other events such as the Informals. This included mono-acting, skits, choreography, speaking, writing and informal games.

N S Vinodh. After completing an early education in Bangalore, N. S. Vinodh obtained his B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras in 1986. Being the secretary of the Photography Club at IIT Madras during his third year, he was an avid photography enthusiast. He then went on to complete his MBA from IIM, Lucknow, and later spent his career holding senior positions in the field of Corporate Real Estate with leading multinational financial services companies. He continued to pursue his hobby of photography, integrating it with his love of travel and wildlife.
