This photograph was taken during the 20th convocation of the Institute.
The chief guest for the 20th convocation was none other than the President of India Mr. Giani Zail Singh (second from right). Mrs. Sheila Kaul (Union Minister for Education and Culture, third from right) was also present. Also seen in the photograph is Mr. A. Sivasailam (Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Madras, extreme left). It appears that the President has just come out of his car before heading to the venue.
