This photograph was taken during the fusion show held during the second night of Saarang. According to a report in The Hindu, “Saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath and Moksha, the rock band, performed a fusion show on the second night.”

Kadri Gopalnath was born in 1950 in Karnataka. He was introduced to music by his father Thaniappan, a Nadaswaram vidwan. Gopalnath’s interest gravitated towards the saxophone over the years. Kadri Gopalnath received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in the early 2000s and the Padma Shri in 2004.
