This photograph shows Mr. Singh interacting with some of the faculty of IIT Madras. Mr. Giani Zail Singh (President of India) was the chief guest for the Institute’s 20th convocation. The event was held at the Student Activities Centre (SAC) which was a new building at the time.

Seen in the photograph are, Mr. A. Sivasailam (Chairman, Board of Governors, extreme left), Mr. Giani Zail Singh (President of India and chief guest, second from left) and Prof. R. Natarajan (Mechanical Engineering Department, second from right). The other personalities in the photograph are yet to be identified.
