Mr. Shrikumar Suryanarayan receives the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the 50th Institute Day, 2009

This photograph was taken on 17 April 2009 when IIT Madras celebrated its 50th Institute Day. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.
Mr. Shrikumar Suryanarayan was one of the recipients that year. He graduated from IIT Madras with a B.Tech. in Physics in 1982 and is an honorary Director General of the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises of India (ABLE), and Former President (R&D) of Biocon.
The photograph shows Prof. M. S. Ananth who was the Director of IIT Madras (2001-2011) at that time, presenting the award to Mr. Shrikumar Suryanarayan. The third person at the right side of the photograph is Mr. K. V. Rangaswami [Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd] who was the chief guest for the function.
