Mrs. Lehnartz, wife of Dr. Lehnartz, who was the President of the German Academic Exchange Service (D. A. A. D.) is seen talking to a gentleman (yet to be identified) in the photograph.
In January 1968, the D. A. A. D. organized a seminar at IIT Madras for former scholarship holders of the programme. The event was held over three days (18 to 21) and saw the likes of Dr. Emil Lehnartz (President of the D. A. A. D.), Miss. Marga E. Schmitz (Officer-in-charge, Scholarships Division, D. A. A. D., Bad Godesberg) and Dr. H. Hessberger (Director, D. A. A. D., India Branch, New Delhi). It is reported in the Annual Report of IIT Madras, 1967-68, that over 50 former scholarship holders attended the event.
