In the image, Prof. Kesavan Nair, Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, is seen speaking at the dais during the 50th Institute Day. Prof. Kesavan Nair did his BTech in Metallurgy and continued with his Master’s and PhD in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. He was the Head of the department from 2007 till 2010.

According to Dr. Ravi Kumar (Professor & Head of the Department, Dept of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering), Prof. Nair was one of the most popular Heads of the Department. Prof. Kesavan Nair was also the Head of the Central X-ray Diffraction Laboratory till his retirement.
