The photograph shows Prof. V. G. Idichandy presenting what could be a prize, to a performer. From the left, the musical artists in the photograph are Jeff Coffin and Guitar Prasanna, both of whom performed at the Saarang Jazz Show which took place on the day this photograph was taken, 26 January 2005. Saarang, in 2005, was held from 21 to 26 January and saw a large attendance for many of its events.

The rest of the people on the stage are photographed applauding as Prof. V. G. Idichandy awards the performer. Prof. V. G. Idichandy has been Dean of Students, and Deputy Director at IIT Madras; he has also been Chairman – JEE and has held posts as a professor.
