Prof. Y. Narayana Rao presents a trophy to three girls, 1994
This photograph was taken during the 30th Inter-IIT Sports Meet in 1994. The event was held at IIT Madras. Seen in the image, Mr. Joga Rao (Sports Instructor, extreme left, seated) and Prof. Y. Narayana Rao (Dean of Administration, second from left). The other persons are yet to be identified. Identification of Mr. Joga Rao by Mr. N. Ramesh (1984 alumnus) and Prof. Y. Narayana Rao by (Retd.) Prof. Santhakumar Sundaram (Aerospace Engineering Department). The students in the picture are yet to be identified.
As per the 1994 Annual Report of IIT Madras, the initial two days of the event proceeded smoothly. Unfortunately, heavy rains impeded outdoor activities from taking place. Nonetheless, indoor games like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and weightlifting continued as planned at the Student Activities Centre and the old badminton court.
