Shaan performed at the opening night of Saarang. The show was sold out and the Open Air Theatre (OAT) was packed with crowds. According to a report in The Fourth Estate, “The Shaan show was witness to a sellout crowd that waited while the performer himself bypassed a number of Chennai city traffic rules to arrive an hour late.” The report goes on to talk about how the audience enjoyed themselves. A report in The Hindu notes how the singer had a sore throat, but managed to perform for two and a half hours, keeping the audience on their feet throughout the show.
