Solar power plant on the terrace of the Building Sciences Block

This photograph appears to show the solar power plant erected on the terrace of the Building Sciences Block (BSB). The system harnessed hot water from sunshine, which was then used in the power plant located at ground level on the rear side of BSB to support energy needs. At the extreme right of the image, with spectacles and a hand on the glass, is Prof. S. Srinivasamurthy in his early years.

 

The identification of Prof. Srinivasamurthy and contextual details about the solar facility were provided by Prof. Kumaraswamy S., a retired faculty member from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
