Convocations , Faculty , Inaugurations

The photograph was taken in the newly opened Student Activities Centre (SAC) on the occasion of the 20th Convocation Day in 1983. Seen in the photograph is (extreme right) Mrs. Indira Sivasailam, wife of Chairman of the Board of Governors Mr. A. Sivasailam and (wearing a green saree) Mrs. Malathi Ramanna, wife of the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Bombay Dr. Raja Ramanna. Mrs. Indira Sivasailam was known for her inclination towards Carnatic music. She encouraged upcoming artists and provided them with a platform to perform and make their talents visible. Ms. Mallika Srinivasan started the Indira Sivasailam Foundation as a tribute to her mother Indira Sivasailam.
