This photograph was taken during the 26th Convocation which was held in 1989. In this photograph, an undergraduate student bows down before the distinguished guests and professors on the dais before receiving the degree.

This Convocation awarded several students, increasing the total number of degrees awarded to students by IIT Madras to 13887, according to the Annual Report of 1989-90.
