Tea time at IIT Madras, 1964

This photograph was taken during the first Inter-Collegiate Sports Meet at the Institute.

According to Lionel Paul’s (Sports Secretary) report in the IIT Madras Annual Number 1963-1964, the meet was followed by a sumptuous tea, after which the prize distribution was held.

Seated, from the left, Mrs. Shanti Sengupto (Director’s wife) and Mr. Gerhard Fischer (chief guest and Consul, Federal Republic of Germany). The gentleman to the right is yet to be identified.
