This photo was captured at IIT Madras' stadium, possibly during the opening ceremony of the Inter-IIT Sports Meet, which was hosted by the university. The individual standing on the far left is Prof. R. Natarajan, the Director. The identities of the other individuals in the photo remain unknown. It is probable that the event shown is the unfurling or hoisting of the flag that displays the emblems of the participating IITs.
