The Distinguished Alumnus Award awardees at the 50th Institute Day, 2009

This photograph was taken during the 50th Institute Day of IIT Madras, which took place on 17 April 2009. IIT Madras presents its highest award to alumni, known as the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA), during Institute Days.

The people in the photograph (from the left to the right) are Prof. V. G. Idichandy (Dean of Students), Dr. Jagadeesh S. Moodera, Mr. Shrikumar Suryanarayan, chief guest Mr. K. V. Rangaswami, Prof. M. S. Ananth (Director of IIT Madras), Mr. M. G. Parameswaran, Mr. K. Ravi Kumar and Mr. D. Chandrasekhar.

The chief guest for the ceremony was Mr. K. V. Rangaswami, then the Whole-time Director & President (Construction), L&T Ltd. Mr. K. V. Rangaswami is also an alumnus of IIT Madras, having completed his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in 1965.
