The IIT Madras team with the General Championship trophy, 1999
This picture was captured outside the Student Activities Centre, featuring a group of students who seem to be the sports and athletics team of IIT Madras. They emerged as winners in the 35th Inter-IIT Sports Meet held on home soil. As per the Annual Report of IIT Madras in 1999, the host team had won the overall championship.
Seen in the photograph are, Prof. B. Viswanathan (Dean of Students, first row, seventh from left) and Prof. R. Natarajan (Director, first row, eighth from left). The other persons in this photograph are yet to be identified.
