Two girls from IIT Delhi receive a shield from Prof. Y. Narayana Rao, 1994
This photograph was taken during the 30th Inter-IIT Sports Meet at IIT Madras. Prof. Y. Narayana Rao was the Dean of Administration during this time. Also seen in the image is Mr. Joga Rao (Sports Instructor, in a black jacket, extreme left). The students in the picture are yet to be identified.
As per the 1994 Annual Report of IIT Madras, the initial two days of the event proceeded smoothly. Unfortunately, heavy rains impeded outdoor activities from taking place. Nonetheless, indoor games like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and weightlifting continued as planned at the Student Activities Centre and the old badminton court.
