This photograph, taken on the occasion of the 26th Convocation in 1989, shows several undergraduate students waiting in line to receive their degrees. The 26th Convocation took place in the Student Activities Centre (SAC).

244 B.Tech., 328 M.Tech., 51 M.Sc., 54 M.S., and 81 Ph.D. degrees were awarded at this Convocation. This increased the total number of degrees awarded to students by IIT Madras to 13887, according to the Annual Report of 1989-90.
