Through the Annual Report of IIT Madras, 2002-2003, we know that there were several events organized at the fest. Some of these included design contests, paper presentation contests, entrepreneurship contests and many more. This photograph appears to have been taken during a contest involving designing or painting, but we are not sure about this. The persons in the photograph are yet to be identified. This assumption has been made on the basis that a photograph from this album shows a boy holding a poster saying “Pot Break!!!”  We are not sure who the person in the photograph is. At Saarang, plenty of competitions and events were organized for participants who came from various colleges across the country. Most of the events were held around the Humanities and Social Sciences Block and its premises.  We can ascertain that this photograph was taken at the entrance of the Central Lecture Theatre (CLT) because of the fact that the decorative beams are still in place today. This photograph was taken during Saarang in 2003. The sign placed at the top of the desk says ‘Photography Desk’. It is possible that this photograph was taken at the entrance of the Central Lecture Theatre judging by the stair pattern in the photograph.  Most of the events at Saarang were organized either at the Humanities and Social Sciences Block or around the building.  We do not know who the persons in the photograph are.
