‘Big bang’ a Western music show was the last pro-show of Saarang-2000 and was possibly held on 24th January 2000. The artists who performed that evening at the Institute’s Open Air Theatre were Juravi, Burn, Moksha and Nemesis Avenue. The Western music show was probably the only show in Chennai where almost all genres of western music were covered on one night. The show was highly popular among the younger audience. The artists covered ‘sing along’ popular numbers from the 60’s through the 90’s.

The ‘Fusion Nite’ event was held on 23rd January 2000 and for the first time Saarang featured artists of international fame and brought down artists all the way from the USA. At the event the audience was treated with a blend of Carnatic and Jazz music performed by the band ‘Millenium Z’. The band comprised of three members: Mr. Prasanna (an ex IITian) on the guitar and vox, Kenwood Dennard on the drums and keyboard and Alponso Johnson on the bass. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the one man orchestra put up by Kenwood Dennard while singing and playing the drums and keyboard.
