This event could be one of the solo music events that took place during Saarang. There were also group events in Light Music and Western Music. After a preliminary round, selected participants would have a final round where winners would be chosen. A music band performs on the stage in the Open Air Theatre (OAT) during Decibels in 2005. A Saarang event, Decibels is a search for bands across India; and according to articles, the winning band receives an opportunity to open the Rock Show. Apart from events such as this, a wide variety of events and competitions were conducted during Saarang in 2005: Music, Dance, Quiz, Debate, Antakshari, Fine Arts, Extempore, etc., according to the schedule of events from 2005. During Choreo Nite, dance teams from various colleges in India compete against each other. In this photograph, a college dance team performs during Choreo Nite. Proceeds from Choreo Nite usually go to a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) or a charity. During the 2005 edition of Saarang, during which this photograph was taken, the proceeds from Choreo Nite went towards the relief fund for the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, according to the Annual Report of 2004-2005. In 2005, Saarang was held from 21 to 26 January and Choreo Nite was held on 23 January.
