This photograph was taken during the 30th Inter-IIT Sports Meet at IIT Madras. The person presenting the prize is Prof. Y. Narayana Rao (Dean of Administration). The students receiving the prize are yet to be identified. As per the 1994 Annual Report of IIT Madras, the initial two days of the event proceeded smoothly. Unfortunately, heavy rains impeded outdoor activities from taking place. Nonetheless, indoor games like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and weightlifting continued as planned at the Student Activities Centre and the old badminton court.  The Heritage…

This photograph was taken at the 30th Inter-IIT Sports Meet. The tennis players depicted in the image are unidentified. As per the 1994 Annual Report of IIT Madras, the sports meet was disrupted by heavy rainfall, resulting in the cancellation of all outdoor events. Only indoor events were held. Nevertheless, the report highlights that IIT Madras had put on a commendable performance and had earned a respectable number of points until the end of the third day.
