Mr. Venugopal Aravamudan (1985 B.Tech. alumnus) visited the Heritage Centre with his mother, Mrs. Aravamudan, and daughter. Mr. Venu Aramavudan is the son of Prof. G. Aravamudan (Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras) and Mrs. Aravamudan. Mr. Aravamudan has also instituted a Chair Professorship in his father Prof. Aravamudan's name.

The Great Transformation This letter is about an environmental phenomenon that took place in the IIT Madras campus and the adjoining Guindy National Park over a few decades. We now have a clue to the question of why this transformation took place. That clue came from the daughter of Mr. Walter Götz, one of the German experts who lived on campus in the early years of  the institute. He is the Director of Research of the Kalinga Foundation Agumbe, working on amphibians and reptiles of southern India. His chief interests lie in the field of systematic herpetology.
