This photograph was taken when the Siemens 7580-E computer system was being handed to IIT Madras. Mr. Hans Klein, the Minister for Economic Co-operation, Federal Republic of Germany handed the system officially to IIT Madras. The Federal Republic of Germany had agreed to give the computer to IIT Madras as part of the Indo-German agreement.
