Saarang 2005 was held from 21 to 26 January, 2005. Over these 6 days, there was a variety of events and competitions held, ranging from music to quiz. This photograph is of one of the events held during Saarang. This event was held at a location between the Humanities and Sciences Block (HSB) and the Open Air Theatre (OAT). In the photograph, three students stand on the stage as one of them speaks into the microphone whereas the student in the centre seems to be rifling through a bag. This could be part of the event that was taking place on the stage.
In this photograph, taken during one of the 6 days of Saarang 2005, the participants for a painting event are seen painting on circular bases at a table. Open bottles of paint, brushes and cups with water are seen. Behind the two participants, another group of participants is seated, also painting. “Be the Change” was the name of the Jazz Show by R. Prasanna, with Jeff Coffin on sax, Kai Eckhardt on bass guitar and Derico Watson on drum. In the photograph, Jeff Coffin performs music on the flute; a saxophone can also be seen. An American saxophonist and composer, Jeff Coffin performs across the genres of jazz, pop, and rock. The name of the Jazz Show is taken from the title of the album Be the Change released by R. Prasanna in 2004. R.
