In this photograph, taken during the cultural festival Saarang in 2005, Mrs. Jayashree Ananth is seen lighting the lamp or the kuthu vilakku. The gentleman wearing glasses at the right side of the photograph is Prof. M. S. Ananth, Director of IIT Madras (2001-2011). The Jazz Show titled “Be the Change” was performed by R. Prasanna, with Jeff Coffin on sax, Kai Eckhardt on bass guitar and Derico Watson on drum. The person in the image is Derico Watson, seen playing the drums. Be the Change was also the title of the album released by R. Prasanna in 2004. R. Prasanna, better known as Guitar Prasanna, is a musician best known for performing Carnatic music on the guitar. Classical Music Night was held on 21 January 2005 with musicians Ayaan Ali Bangash and Amaan Ali Bangash, sons of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, all of whom are famed for their musical prowess with the sarod.
