In his address, Dr. A. L. Mudaliar (Chairman, Board of Governors) talked about Mr. M. C. Chagla, introducing him to the audience: "We have known him and we have known of his great reputation in many fields of national activities in which he has participated. As the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, as an Ambassador of our land to various countries, as one of the illustrious men who espoused the cause of India at the United Nations, he has won laurels everywhere and has earned the grateful appreciation of his countrymen". This is the label affixed on the album cover. The letters are inscribed in a golden colour, while the label itself is a darker hue of blue. It measures 17 cm by 4.7 cm.

Mr. M. C. Chagla (chief guest and Union Education Minister, extreme left) was the Union Education Minister from 1963 to 1966. He held several important roles in his career, including chief justice of the Bombay High Court and judge of the International Court of Justice. His son Iqbal Chagla calls him “a man of immense simplicity”, in an interview published on the ‘MyLaw’ channel on YouTube.  Dr. A. M. C. Chagla had an illustrious career. He was first a member of the Muslim League, and later he founded the Muslim Nationalist Party, in Bombay. He worked as a Professor of law at the Government Law College, Bombay in 1927, where he worked alongside Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He was appointed a judge at the Bombay High Court in 1941. He served as Chief Justice from 1948 to 1958. He had the privilege of leading the first Indian delegation to the UN in 1946. In 1956, he was the Acting Governor of the state of Bombay from 4th October to 10th December. From 1957 to 1959, Chagla served as ad hoc judge…

This was the official invitation to the convocation. The front page (shown here) measures 17.5 cm by 12.5 cm. The font used is Wedding Regular. The font comes under the Wedding Text font family and was designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1901. The font soon became popular and was used under several names by various people. Due to it being highly ornamental, and not very legible, its use is restricted to headlines and shorter texts.
